History

Sharing Their Love of Fiber Arts.
The Whidbey Weavers Guild celebrates over 50 years of spinning, weaving, tapestry, knitting and all things having to do with fiber! The goal of the Guild continues to focus on sharing our expertise, learning new techniques and fostering individual growth in our fiber journey.

Who We Are Today.
The current members range from beginners and hobbyists to production weavers and fiber artists, some of whom are nationally-recognized artists and teachers. Our large spinning community has members who raise sheep, alpaca, llamas, goats, and dogs to harvest fiber.

.

The Guild started with a focus on specific member interests and today includes study groups, workshops and presentations exploring a multitude of fiber-related topics.

The annual Uncommon Threads sale is an opportunity to showcase the creativity of our members. This is a fabulous event that brings the community in to purchase the work of our members.

Since the 1970s the Spin-In continues each year to bring in spinners from all over the region for a weekend of learning, fiber, and fun.
